PRIVATE LESSONS

Whether you’re at your wits end or just looking to hone in on specific training skillsets, investing in private lessons provides a hands-on approach to fostering a stronger, more fulfilling relationship with your dog.

We’re called Balanced Best Friend Dog Training and Owner Education for a reason — during private lessons, I prioritize your education to ensure you feel comfortable and empowered to work with your dog without me there. During each lesson we’ll work to sharpen your handling skills and talk through dog psychology to better understand “the why” behind each of the strategies and exercises we choose implement with your dog(s). You’ll also receive follow-up correspondence including a lesson summary, homework, and resources to ensure long-term success!

Please note a virtual session may be required if there is some foundational training I need you to work on with your dog before our first in-person lesson (ex: muzzle conditioning).

  • There’s no concrete answer for this without a comprehensive understanding of your training goals — that’s why a 15 minute free no obligation consultation is so helpful! With more context I’m able to provide a detailed training plan and accurate pricing quote.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that training is a lifestyle and not a one-hour quick fix. For reference, I generally quote packages of 5+ lessons!

  • I’m all about owner education. It’s important to me that you feel comfortable with the training plan we have in place and empowered with the knowledge + skills to keep up the hard work in-between sessions!

You’ll receive follow-up correspondence after each lesson with a lesson summary, homework, and resources to ensure you feel supported and set up for success.

I’m also available to you to provide feedback, tips, and additional resources — not only in between lessons, but for the rest of your time with your dog.

  • Every dog and situation is unique, so different tools may be required dependent on factors like temperament and owner skill level. Because of this, my toolbox is open. I strive to use positive reinforcement and reward based training as a starting point as much as possible.

We may choose to use nothing but a slip-leash or incorporate e-collar training into your program depending on your comfort zone. Let’s work together to figure out what will work best for you and your dog based on your personal training goals!
