FAQs

  • Before your virtual session, we will schedule a phone consultation or I will ask you to answer questions via email to learn more about your situation and tailor to your specific needs. I may also ask that you send example videos of specific behavioral issues ahead of time.

Since I won’t be working with your dog in-person, I’ll talk you through training scenarios or demonstrate using one of my own dogs. Virtual sessions are all about empowering you with the tools to continue working with your dog at home. Don’t worry about trying to remember everything we cover – you’ll receive a recording of our session as well as email correspondence with homework to set you up for continued success. I may also provide you with video resources depending on your situation. I’m also available for troubleshooting as needed if you run into any hiccups.

  • Yes! We can tackle a wide range of training goals during virtual sessions.

For maximum benefit, certain problem behaviors may require in-person instruction (dependent on your baseline skill-level and comfortability handling your dog). We can always try a virtual session first, and if we feel your situation requires a more hands-on approach we can pivot to private lessons.

  • Crate training, reactivity (barking at dogs/people/doorbells), loose leash walking, implementing basic obedience commands, house training, mild-to-moderate separation anxiety, muzzle conditioning, litter mate syndrome.

Virtual sessions might not be the best choice for dogs with a bite history, aggression (towards people or pet housemates), severe separation anxiety.

Of course each situation is unique and we can clarify if a virtual session is appropriate or not after an initial no-cost consultation.

  • I typically use Zoom so I can provide you with a recording of the session, but we can always hop on a Google Meet, FaceTime, etc. — if a specific platform works best for you, just let me know ahead of time!
